The Victory March from Wabash to Manchester occurred in late February, 1966 after winning the Hoosier Collegiate Conference Championship.  One alumnus speculates that it might have been a “bet” by Coach Wolfe to make that walk if the team won.  Further in the photo montage is a sign wishing for a place in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National Tournament in Kansas City.  However, we lost to Indiana Central (now U. Indy) in the District 21 playoffs, a team we had defeated for the conference championship.  Indiana Central went to Kansas City.

In January of 2004 Professor Mark Angelos led students of Hist 320, “Comparative Civilization,” through London, Canterbury, Paris, Berlin, Dresden, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, and Chicago’s O’Hare airport.

For many decades, Manchester has celebrated the holiday season.

  • Alumna, Edith Weybright Huber (Class of 1919,) served at the Hasting Street Church of the Brethren Mission in Chicago.  One photograph probably illustrates a Christmas with her students in the “Windy City.”
  • Other pictures show the families of Manchester presidents Otho Winger, A. Blair Helman, and William Robinson.  
  • A student improvises a tree during Christmas of 1956 while another student, perhaps decades later, gets into the spirit by dressing as Santa.
  • An angel graces a free-form tree.
  • Mr. Claus poses in 1997 with faculty emeriti David Waas, Ferne Baldwin, “Doc” Niswander, and Paul Keller.
